Only a little gas. And I think it will stay that way.
With Gas prices going over $3 so far, with no end in sight, you start seeing things like emails asking you to join the 'Gas protest' and not get gas on a certain day. That's not only ridiculous, it's completely useless. All you are doing in that case is shifting your fill date. If you want to do something, change your usage patterns. Combine errands so you make fewer trips, Car pool, join Netflix instead of driving to the video store. Or, and I know this is blasphemous in the state of Texas, but maybe take mass transit.
That's what I have started doing.
Don't get me wrong. I loved driving to and from work. I got to listen to my music, do things at my own pace, drive to lunch. But with Gas prices as high as they are, and no option for the wife to take the bus to work. I have started to take the train. I can listen to my music on MP3, not have to worry about traffic or other drivers, and I spend less on lunch by bringing it with me. I get a good workout walking to/from work to the train station, and use far less gas than I would have if I drove in (something like 65% less gas)
So, if you have an issue with rising gas prices, don't change the DAY you get gas, change the WAY you get gas.
Ok, soap box moment over.
Oh, and so many pepole have said things about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina much more eloquently than I could have, so I'll just say, do what yhou can to help. If you can't afford to give money, give food or supplies, if you can;t do that, give any unused clothes or blankets. But, please help.
