1 week away!

Anyone who knows me knows that, as far as I am concerned, there is only one comic shopin the metroplex woth going to :ZEUS COMICS AND TOYS.
Well, it just so happens that one week from tomorrow, on May 7, two rather substantial events will be combined. The first is Free Comic Book Day. All over the country, comic publishers get together to expose the world to the medium I love. The other is exclusive to ZEUS COMICS AND TOYS. It's called CAPE: Comic And Pop Culture Expo. There will be local and national comics artists and writers. Signings, fun, all sort of greatness. If you're out and about Saturday May 7th, come on by. I'll be there all day!

ON VH-1 Classics show "We Are the 80's" they just had the video for Michael Damian's song "Rock On". I guess in the back of my mind I remember that song, from the movie "Dream a Little Dream". But I never realized that Corey Feldman was in the video. Weird.
It was followed by Paul Hardcastle's song "19" I remember back in the early days of high school when that song was big. Maybe my first exposure to 'Techno'. I do love this show!!

Interesting test

I usually avoid these things, but this one seemed quite interesting to me.
Here are my results.

Damned Geico commercials

I'm a big fan of well done commercials.
Even marginal commecials can be good sometimes.
Well, I just saw the new Geico commecial.
It's SPEED RACER!! it's great Trixis is in the helicopter talking to Speed about the race, when suddenly she says "I've got some good news" and that's when you know.
Damn. I loved this commercial!
Almost makes up for those damn crappy Sonic commercials.

Monday Night out.

We ventured out tonight.
Freeway, one of my greatest friends and my tattoo artist, asked us out to a new coffee shop run by his friend Badger. Panther City Coffee Co. for open mic poetry night
It's located at University and Berry in Ft Worth TX.
Anyone who knows me knows I can't stand coffee. But let me tell you, I loved this place!!!
Started out with a Chai milkshake. Perfectly spiced, creamy, just a mouthful of wonderfulness.
Sat there drinking it listening to some poetry. Some good, some great, all entertaining.
My next drink was what's referred to as "lawsuit waiting to happen". It's a milkshake, with a can of Red Bull and an entire giant Pixy Stick. (by the way, blue seems to be the best flavor to choose)
It took a little getting used to, but man, I liked it.
if you get the chance, swing by and check it out.

Saturday night at home.

It's Saturday night.10:00 p.m.
Sitting at home, relaxing, catching up on Tivo backlog, listening to some hits of the 80's.
Not so very long ago (or maybe it was) I'd just be starting my evening now. I look back on those days with a certain fondness, and not a little surprise. How was I able to stay up so late and have so much fun? I made some very good friends, though.
It seems like anymore, my only late nights involve computer games, tattoo shops, or just insomnia. Mariagge, getting older? Either of these could have conspired to change things. Or, just happy being where I am. Who knows? It's a little deep to consider while catching up on 'Smallville' reruns.
Have a good night, anyone who reads this.
