Again: WHY?

I don't know why they felt the need to do this.
Honestly. If they didn't call it by the same name, it would just be another cookie-cutter action movie.
What's next? The 'Head of the Class' remake? Revisiting 'Mr. Belvedere'?

Blog dump

- Catching up on some Tivo goodies, and watching a few episodes of one of my new favorite shows, 'Numbers', and who do I see but BILL NYE THE FREAKIN SCIENCE GUY!!
Neat! They also discussed him also on a recent episode of 'NCIS'.
I wonder, is he on his way back? If so, YAY! I love that he taught kids science and made it entertaining, but sisn;t talk down to kids. Made me remember how much I loved Mr. Wizard.
Kids today need that. Ignore what Diddy and his ilk try to teach you. Pay attention to people trying to expand your mind and make you better. Come on kids, pick up a DVD of Schoolhouse Rock! Hell, you could even learn from old episodes of G.I. Joe! (and knowing is half the battle!)
- In the in-between times of the holidays, and wondering where all the Christmas spirit has gone. Driving home from work, I see that everyone is back to their old driving habits. Is it THAT big a deal to use your turn signals, people? Ok, never mind, I can't expect that much from people in general.
-There is a number 3. But only because it's a magic number. (see above)
- Wildfires are raging across the North Texas area. In the past week alone, I can count 5 fires within 5 miles of where I live. My dad even called me from out of state to check if I was ok.
Dry grass and cigarettes thrown from car windows, it's not a recipe for fun.
- I'm done. Finito. Enjoy your drive home and don't forget to tip your waitresses.

Nip/Tuck

Sitting here relaxing after a good dinner, watching Nip/Tuck reveal the identity of 'The Carver'. and who was it? Dr. Quentin Costa. And the wife can tell you, I picked it way ahead of time. I'll tell you, though, I almost thought it was Liz, the anesthesiologist.
Seeing a lot of previews for the movie 'Hostel'. Looks like a damn good scary movie.
Ok. Nip/Tuck is back on, and I have to go.

It's the most.....................................time of the year

Yes, it's Christmas time. And we all know what that means. I was asked to reprise my role as Santa Claus at the library at which I used to work. I think it is my 3rd or 4th year.
So, I did it. I love those ladies there, and it's a bit of a big deal for them, and truth be told, I love doing it! Something about a stifling hot red suit and crying kids, and it just makes me feel like a jolly old elf.
Ok, all of them didn't scream. A surprising number of kids seemed to enjoy it. Like I made their nights or something. One girl had her little list, and we sat there reading it. There were people still in line, but damn it, if it was important enough for her to write out her list, then it was important enough for me to treat it seriously. I swear. some of those kids touched me. (emotionally. please, I'm not THAT kind of Santa)
There may be a picture or two posted soon.
keep watching.

Oh MAN!!!! X-FREAKIN-3!!!

I was surfing the movie trailers sites, and I found the next must see geek movie.
X3!That's right. The third X-Men movie! I wasn't too enthiused about the prospect of 'Frasier Crane' as Beast, but going by how he looks, maybe it won't suck as bad as I thought.
As good as I thought the second one was, it looks like this one will leave it in the dust. Click the link and check it out for yourself.

And for Ali, yes, I have stopped giving you a hard time about Rent. Enjoy it while it lasts. Eventually something else will come up that i am forced to give you a hard time for and the cycle will continue.
