Black Friday? Nah. Movie day

So, after a quick trip to Target, it was decided to spend the morning in a movie. What did we choose? 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. I could tell you about the movie, but if you've read the book, you'll see the movie.
I wanna talk about the trailers. I suppose, way back in the back of my mind, I knew the new 'Superman Returns' trailer would be shown before the movie. but I forgot. So, the lights go down, the trailers start, and I realize it's the one I was waiting for.
As an aside, anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge geek. To paraphrase a phrase I like, I am 'the kind of geek you can see from space'. I had a 12-13 year old girl compliment me on my Superman t-shirt at Lowe's this evening.. But oddly enough, not my cool Green lantern hat. Hmm.
As the glory of the Superman trailer washed over me, I felt the goose bumps that I expected. That's normal. Ask any geek and they'll tell you that's normal. But at the end of the trailer, I realized I had started to mist up. I'm not sure why, but there I was, getting choked up by this. You know what though? If the movie sucks, I think it could physically hurt me. Don't let me down, guys.

Guess this means I have to quit giving Ali crap about 'Rent'

Links to cool stuff from Wizard World.

I got some neat stuff from Wizard World this year, and wanted to link to the people who created them.
First was a guy who sketched for me last year, and I picked up some neat pictures friom him this year: Chris Moreno
Then there were some wild pictures. I got a great Supergirl picture from this guy. Some of his stuff may not be work/kid safe, so be warned: Darrell O'Riley
And a site important to someone who is very special to me: Fight Blindness
Pick up a bracelet. they have Braille on them and they glow in the dark!
And, last, but by far not least, is the great Superman dog tags for sale at the convention. They are great tags, and for a good cause: Superman Tags
I will be trying to post sketches, prints, etc that I have on here when I can.

No Title. Just too stunned.

Looking at the election results, it's amazing.
74 percent of the people voting voted against gay marriage. They won't get up and vote for the important stuff, but by god (pun intended) they sure will get out and tell other people how to live their lives.
Ridiculous.

Wizard World Pictures

Me and Sean Astin
(He's the short one)

Big Volunteer group shot

Me, Rosemary, and Tom (her dad)
This year I was smart enough to catch Tom's url, and keep in touch afterwards. It was a little too like camp, losing touch after everyone leaves

Ron Perlman and me
He's surprisingly shorter in real life than I expected.

Wizard World TX: Part 3 - This time, it's personal

Just coming down from the weekend of the annual Wizard World TX convention. This was not only the third year for the convention, but it also happened to be my third year of working the show.
This was a little smaller than last year, but I thought it was better. You could get to meet and talk to the artists better, and get some great stuff.
I'm still going through all my goodies from the weekend.
I did get to meet Ron Perlman and Sean Astin. That was cool.
