Dueling movie trailers

Ali threw down the gauntlet with her post about the latest trailer from the movie version of 'Rent'

In response, I have to say, there is a remake I would actually watch (I refused to watch 'Dukes of Hazard', 'Bewitched', or Starsky & Hutch').

Yes, it is the movie trailer for 'DOOM'!!

When I first heard about this, I thought they were going to ruin it. But, watching this trailer makes me happy. There are even FPS sequences! (For you non-gamers, that's 'First Person Shooter'. Where the view on the screen is just like you were looking out of the character's eyes. Like 'Being John Malkovitch' with fewer boring parts.) I will definitely go see this movie.

Rent?? I tried, really I did

Ali, I tried, really I did. I was on the Apple Previews site, and I watched the clip for "Seasons of Love" from "Rent".
'How do you measure a year'? I'm thinking the amount of time it felt like while watching this video. Wow.
Though, Idina Menzel is good to look at. That's not enough to get me there.
In the immortal words of Jimmy Kimmel, "if you super-glued my testicles to a cannonball and fired it through the doors of a theatre showing that movie, I still wouldn't watch it"

12 years of medical school for this?!?

I saw this news story and was flabbergasted. And that doesn't happen to me too much. (Hush!)
If you don't like clicking on links, the story boils down to: a doctor told a patient she was obese. So she FREAKING SUES HIM!!!! She sued her doctor for stating his medical opinion.
And, let's be honest. She may have had a t-shirt that said "hot stuff" and some (really big) hip huggers, but I doubt anything she heard came as a shock. I'm overweight. Hell, if it's true that being more than 50 pounds over your 'ideal weight' makes you obese, then I am. I know what you're thinking: I don't look it. Thank you, flatterer.
Regardless, where does this woman get off suing this doctor and ruining his life, for saying what could be the complete truth. He even apologized, but that wasn't good enough for her.

Just remember, the Bill of Rights says nothing about freedom from being offended.

Make political correctness work FOR you, not against you!

There is a movement afoot to change the names of Sports teams, military equipment, or place names to be 'politically correct'.
I hereby make the case to hereby stop calling saltines, Ritz, etc, by the name 'cracker'. And don't get me started on 'Cracker Jacks'. That name is offensive to caucasian-americans, and shows terrible insensitivity to to the melanin-challenged.
